We are looking for an experienced Applied AI Engineer to strengthen our AI capabilities and help us build high-quality products. ABOUT THE ROLE You will assess the technical feasibility of new product ideas and own their AI development end to end, from research, model and methodology selection, and experimentation through implementation and production deployment. Your work will primarily focus on image processing and generative image models. Alongside improving the output quality, latency, and cost of our existing products, you will help identify new product opportunities enabled by advances in AI. RESPONSIBILITIES • Translate product needs into well-defined technical problems, success criteria, and practical solution approaches. • Explore emerging models, open-source tools, and relevant research; evaluate alternatives through systematic experimentation. • Design image-focused AI workflows, combining models and processing steps where appropriate. • Develop model adaptation, fine-tuning, and custom data preparation pipelines when required. • Build evaluation processes to measure output quality and consistency; analyze failure modes and drive improvements. • Optimize the balance between quality, latency, and cost in line with product goals. • Turn solutions into production-ready services and APIs, integrate them into products, and ensure reliable operation. • Document and share experimental findings and technical decisions with the team. • Stay current with AI developments, experiment with new models, and contribute technical insight to the product roadmap. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • Strong experience developing AI/ML solutions and deploying them in products used by real users. • Hands-on technical depth in image processing, computer vision, or generative image models. • Experience working with open-source models and commercial model APIs, with the ability to assess their capabilities, limitations, and costs. • Strong research and problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop hypotheses and design experiments when established approaches fall short. • Solid software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-ready services. • Practical knowledge of data preparation, model evaluation, and performance optimization. • The ability to work independently through ambiguity and take ownership of technical decisions. • Strong product judgment, connecting model capabilities with user needs. • Curiosity, a drive to experiment with new technologies, and a commitment to continuous learning. • Clear communication and effective collaboration within a remote team. NICE TO HAVE • Experience adapting image models through fine-tuning, LoRA, or similar methods. • Experience with GPU inference, model serving, and inference optimization. • Experience with video generation and multimodal AI systems. • Experience building products with RAG, agent systems, or audio models.
