DevOps & Platform Engineer Industry: Telecommunications About the Role We are looking for a skilled DevOps & Platform Engineer to join our technology organization, supporting business-critical digital services and enterprise-scale applications within the telecommunications industry. In this role, you will be responsible for improving application delivery processes, managing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment operations, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of production environments. You will work closely with software development, infrastructure, network, security, and operations teams to maintain high service availability, optimize platform performance, and enable continuous delivery across complex telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in DevOps, platform operations, application deployment, and enterprise middleware technologies, with a strong focus on automation, operational excellence, and service continuity. Key Responsibilities Design, manage, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and automated build, release, deployment, and rollback processes across development, testing, and production environments. Automate operational workflows and support containerized applications, Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms, middleware technologies, and server configurations. Ensure reliable and standardized application deployment processes across distributed and enterprise-scale environments. Troubleshoot application, deployment, infrastructure, and platform-related issues, performing root cause analysis to minimize service disruptions and maintain business continuity. Monitor application logs, system performance, platform health, and service availability using technologies such as Elasticsearch and RabbitMQ. Maintain and improve deployment scripts, pipeline templates, certificates, configurations, technical documentation, and operational runbooks. Support change, incident, and problem management processes in accordance with enterprise IT operational standards. Contribute to database sanitization activities and provide technical documentation and evidence for security, regulatory, and internal audit requirements. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, network, and security teams to improve service reliability, operational efficiency, and deployment quality. Promote DevSecOps practices and integrate security controls into application development and delivery processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, system resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency. Qualifications & Technical Expertise Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, CI/CD, Platform Engineering, Release Engineering, or Production Application Operations. Experience in enterprise IT environments, preferably within the telecommunications industry. Understanding of high-availability systems, business-critical applications, and large-scale production environments. DevOps & Automation Strong hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise, and CI/CD automation. Experience in build automation, artifact management, release orchestration, and controlled deployment practices. Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting languages. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and container-based application environments. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools. Application & Platform Technologies Experience troubleshooting microservices, REST APIs, application servers, middleware, and environment-specific configuration issues. Knowledge of Java application environments, including concurrency, JDBC, and transaction management. Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP), APIs, JSON/XML, and service integration architectures. Experience with middleware technologies such as WebLogic, Nginx, reverse proxies, and load balancers. Understanding of operating system, application server, network, storage, and database performance analysis. Familiarity with distributed application architectures and enterprise integration environments. Monitoring, Messaging & Databases Experience with logging and monitoring solutions such as ELK Stack, Elasticsearch, Zabbix, and Netcool. Knowledge of messaging and queuing technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ. Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, including query optimization and performance analysis. Experience in application and database administration is an advantage. Security & Compliance Knowledge of DevSecOps principles, security integration within CI/CD pipelines, secrets and certificate management, and vulnerability remediation. Familiarity with SAST/DAST tools, security controls, and segregation of duties. Awareness of ISO 27001, PCI DSS, regulatory compliance, change management, and IT audit processes is an advantage Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills Experience with telecommunications applications, digital service platforms, and high-volume transaction environments. Familiarity with telecom service integration architectures, API management, and enterprise messaging infrastructures. Experience supporting highly available applications and business-critical production systems. Experience with automated unit, integration, performance, and stress testing. Knowledge of application performance optimization and code maintainability practices. Experience integrating security and quality assurance tools into CI/CD pipelines. Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. High sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve technical issues in time-critical environments. Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
