INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

ISTANBUL’74 is seeking an experienced International Communications Director to lead communications and oversee relationships across its international cultural projects, exhibitions, collaborations, and publishing platforms, including SEVENTYFOUR magazine and ’74 CULTURE. The successful candidate will manage and develop relationships with artists, cultural institutions, galleries, media, and strategic partners across Istanbul, New York, Paris, and beyond. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead international communications across projects and platforms, ensuring a consistent and considered institutional voice. Manage correspondence and maintain strong relationships with international collaborators and partners. Oversee the preparation of proposals, presentations, press materials, and editorial communications. Identify and develop opportunities for cultural partnerships and international visibility. Coordinate communications across internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring precision and timely follow-through. STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Proactively identify and develop cultural partnerships, institutional collaborations, sponsorships, brand projects and other commercial opportunities. Translate introductions, conversations and creative ideas into clearly defined proposals and actionable projects. Lead partnership outreach, presentations, negotiations and follow-up in coordination with the Founder & Creative Director. Maintain an organised pipeline of prospective collaborations, partnership discussions and commercial opportunities. Coordinate confirmed partnerships with the relevant teams, ensuring clear responsibilities, deliverables and communication with external stakeholders. CANDIDATE PROFILE Significant experience in a senior communications or international relations role within the arts, culture, publishing, or creative industries. Exceptional command of written and spoken English, with outstanding writing and interpersonal skills. A strong educational background and a broad understanding of contemporary art and global culture. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships within an international environment. Excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail. A proactive, articulate, and thoughtful approach, with the ability to work independently and represent ISTANBUL’74 internationally.
