Logistics Network Design Engineer - Fixed Term

As Ford Otosan, we are looking for a Logistics Network Design Engineer to further strengthen and continuously improve our end-to-end logistics network for material and vehicle flows across our production locations. The role will contribute to new logistics projects from idea generation through implementation, with a strong focus on cost, capacity, efficiency, sustainability and digitalisation. What awaits you in this role? • Designing and continuously improving end-to-end logistics networks for material and vehicle logistics operations • Leading new logistics projects from concept development and feasibility assessment through implementation • Preparing technical specifications for new logistics processes and services, and supporting supplier selection and contracting activities • Analysing logistics capacities, costs, inventory and service requirements; developing strategies and action plans aligned with company goals • Evaluating transportation modes, routes, shipment frequencies, equipment and direct shipment / consolidation alternatives • Conducting centre-of-gravity, network optimisation, cubic utilisation and cost-reduction studies • Supporting new model and plant integration studies, including cross-border and intermodal logistics flows • Designing and improving empty-container flows, storage and transportation processes • Identifying inefficient logistics methodologies and driving continuous improvement actions • Coordinating logistics IT, data analytics and digitalisation initiatives with internal and external stakeholders • Monitoring project results, logistics service performance and realised savings through clear KPIs • Developing and supporting logistics sustainability initiatives, including transport-mode optimisation, emissions-reduction opportunities, energy-efficient logistics solutions and the integration of environmental criteria into logistics network design decisions. • Collecting and validating logistics sustainability data, performing carbon-emissions and environmental-impact calculations for sustainability reporting, and coordinating logistics supplier development programmes to improve data quality, measurement capability and emissions-reduction performance. What are we looking for in this position? • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering or a related engineering discipline • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics and/or supply chain processes • Experience in project management and cross-functional stakeholder coordination • Good command of written and spoken English • Strong analytical thinking, planning and problem-solving skills • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, take ownership and deliver results • Collaborative mindset, effective communication skills and high individual motivation • Interest in automotive and supply-chain trends such as electrification, Industry 4.0, data analytics and sustainable logistics Technical & Behavioural Skills and Competencies • Logistics network design, transportation and inventory-flow methodologies • Logistics cost modelling, scenario analysis and capacity planning • Knowledge of logistics equipment, route design, vehicle logistics and port operations • Contract and logistics service provider management awareness • Health, safety and ergonomics awareness in logistics operations • Advanced MS Excel; knowledge of Power BI, SAP, SQL, AutoCAD and/or AnyLogistix is an advantage • Project management, continuous improvement and agile ways of working • Sustainable supply chain and green logistics awareness • Persuasion, change management, teamwork and stakeholder management Role Location • Kocaeli When You Start Your Career In "Ford Otosan"; • We have a one-site working model and you can enjoy being part of an agile team. • You’ll become a member of Koç Pension Foundation. • You and your loved ones will enjoy the benefits of KoçAilem. • You’ll choose the side benefits with Flextra.
