R&D Incentives & Grants Specialist

We are looking for an experienced R&D Incentives & Grants Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for identifying national and international funding opportunities, developing R&D and innovation projects with technical teams, coordinating project proposal processes, building project consortiums, and managing the administrative and reporting processes of funded projects. The candidate should have hands-on experience with national or international funding programs, strong project proposal and coordination skills, and excellent English communication skills. Experience with IT/software-focused international grant applications and global project partners will be considered a strong plus. Responsibilities Monitor national and international funding programs, grants, incentives, and support schemes and identify relevant opportunities. Work closely with technical and R&D teams to brainstorm innovative ideas, develop solutions, and transform them into strong project proposals. Coordinate software, sales/marketing, finance, project management, technical teams, and external stakeholders throughout the project development and application processes. Lead and coordinate the preparation of well-structured, compelling, and compliant project proposals. Conduct technology research, market research, and feasibility studies to support project development. Identify potential domestic and international project partners and establish communication with relevant organizations. Build and coordinate project consortiums with national and international partners. Prepare and coordinate all required technical, administrative, and supporting documentation for grant applications. Follow funding program requirements, deadlines, eligibility criteria, and application procedures. Manage administrative processes of ongoing funded projects and coordinate periodic reporting activities. Track project milestones, deliverables, reporting requirements, and administrative obligations. Support the preparation of technical and administrative reports for funded projects. Follow relevant R&D legislation, incentive mechanisms, compliance requirements, and Technology Readiness Level (TRL) frameworks. Identify process-related issues, develop practical solutions, and proactively communicate progress and risks to relevant stakeholders and management. Collaborate with external funding bodies, project partners, consultants, and other stakeholders throughout project development and execution. Participate in domestic and international meetings, events, partner discussions, and project-related activities when required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university program in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field. Engineering graduates are preferred. 3+ years of professional experience in R&D incentives, grants, project development, project management, or a similar role. Hands-on experience in preparing, executing, or reporting projects under at least one national or international funding program. Experience with funding programs such as Horizon Europe, EUREKA, World Bank, IPA, TÜBİTAK, KOSGEB, Development Agencies, or similar collaborative funding programs. Excellent command of English at C1 level across speaking, writing, reading, and listening. This is a mandatory requirement. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong project coordination, stakeholder management, and organizational skills. High sense of ownership and responsibility with a collaborative team mindset. Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to identifying and resolving process-related issues. Solid understanding of relevant R&D legislation, funding mechanisms, and compliance frameworks. Good understanding of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and their application in R&D and innovation projects. Strong research, analytical, and reporting skills. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Willingness and availability to travel domestically and internationally. Completed military service for male candidates. Preferred Qualifications Master’s or Ph.D. degree, completed or currently pursuing. 3+ years of experience in a similar R&D incentives, grants, or project development role. Experience preparing and submitting international IT/software-focused grant applications. Experience working with global project partners and international consortiums. Proven track record of successfully securing national or international project grants. Experience with European Union-funded R&D and innovation projects. Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence or other Atlassian tools. Strong ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear, compelling, and fundable project proposals.
