Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) – RUST Expert Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer and Rust Expert to design, build, and optimize our next-generation infrastructure. In this role, you will architect high-performance, low-latency, and memory-safe distributed systems from scratch. You will serve as the team's subject matter expert on Rust, driving code quality, engineering best practices, and mentoring other developers transitioning into the ecosystem. Key Responsibilities System Architecture: Design and implement highly scalable, low-latency distributed systems and core infrastructure components using Rust. Performance Optimization: Maximize system throughput and minimize resource footprints by leveraging Rust’s zero-cost abstractions and advanced memory management. Code Quality & Mentorship: Lead code reviews, champion idiomatic Rust patterns, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster team growth. Interoperability (FFI): Integrate Rust modules smoothly into existing multi-language codebases e.g., Python via Foreign Function Interfaces. Production Operations: Own end-to-end service delivery, including writing robust asynchronous code. Required Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years of production-level Rust development. Rust Mastery: Deep understanding of the borrow checker, strict lifetime annotations, macro systems, and unsafe code boundaries. Concurrency: Proven expertise in asynchronous programming paradigms, multi-threading, and data synchronization primitives. Systems Fundamentals: Strong grasp of operating system internals, memory management, and network protocols (TCP/IP, https, sftp). Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience contributing to the Rust open-source ecosystem or managing custom crates. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tooling (Docker, Kubernetes) in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Background in domain-specific high-performance areas such as database internals, compiler design, financial trading systems, or embedded platforms. Expertise in LLM and finetuning is a plus, Expertise in embeddings and finetuning is also a plus.
