Junior Game Designer

Founded in 2020, Ruff Games is a mobile game studio dedicated to creating enjoyable experiences. In recent years, we have been focusing exclusively on developing Hybrid Casual Puzzle games. We are looking for a passionate Junior Game Designer to join our growing eight-person team and help us build great games! We are seeking a Junior Game Designer who will take an active role in the development of our mobile games. You will work closely with the team to conceptualize core mechanics, design engaging levels, and contribute to the game from the early stages to launch. Responsibilities Brainstorm, design, and clearly document gameplay mechanics and features. Design, build, and balance levels tailored for the hybrid casual puzzle audience. Collaborate with the team to iterate on prototypes and refine the overall player experience. Analyze market trends, competitor games, and playtest feedback to improve game design. Requirements Experience: Basic experience, personal projects, or a previous internship in game design ( Mobile game experience is a plus ). Puzzle Genre Focus: A strong passion for playing, analyzing, and developing puzzle games is a big plus. Technical Skills: Familiarity with Unity and basic UI/UX principles; ability to clearly communicate ideas through mockups or wireframes. Problem Solving: Ability to identify design issues in gameplay and propose fun, effective solutions. Math & Logic: Good understanding of basic game balancing, pacing, and progression curves. Mindset: Proactive, creative, open to constructive feedback, and eager to learn. Team Player: Strong communication skills and ability to work in a tight-knit team environment.
