# Lead Police Officer

U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic DIB & MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: AMCOM, DIRECTORATE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES, LAW ENFORCEMENT DIV, LAW ENFORCMENT BR I, CHAMBERSBURG, PA
Monitor multi-panel intrusion detection, security alarm, and surveillance systems covering arms, ammunition, and explosives storage areas.
Investigate traffic accidents, crimes against persons/property (theft, assault, sabotage, domestic disputes), and breaches of Mission Essential Vulnerable Areas.
Apprehend, subdue, detain, and process violators; advise suspects of legal rights; testify in federal, state, or magistrate court.
Operate the emergency communications and dispatch console; receive emergency (911) and routine calls.
Dispatch patrols and coordinate response efforts with fire, medical, and external law enforcement units.
Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal and perform background checks for base access and warrant verifications.
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. I have one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level which includes conducting traffic enforcement, and physical security patrols across an installation or complex facility; performing preliminary and follow-up investigations of crimes, accidents, and security breaches; operating law enforcement dispatch, communications consoles, and automated systems, and training lower-graded officers/trainees in police procedures. (GS-07).
