Role Description This full-time hybrid Postdoctoral Researcher role is based in Tehran, with flexibility for some work from home. The Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct independent and collaborative research, design and execute experiments, and analyze data to advance ongoing projects within the university’s engineering and science disciplines. Daily tasks include preparing manuscripts for publication, contributing to grant proposals, presenting results at seminars and conferences, and collaborating with faculty, students, and external partners. The role involves mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, supporting laboratory activities, and participating in departmental meetings and academic events. The researcher is expected to maintain high standards of scientific integrity, contribute to the development of new research directions, and help strengthen IUST’s international research profile. Qualifications Strong research skills, including experimental design, literature review, and scholarly writing. Proficiency in Physics or a closely related field, with a solid theoretical and applied background. Competence in Laboratory Skills, including safe experimental practices and use of relevant equipment. Ability to perform rigorous Data Analysis using appropriate statistical, computational, or simulation tools. Experience in Teaching, mentoring, or supervising students in academic or laboratory settings. PhD in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline completed or near completion. Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Effective communication skills in English; additional language skills are an asset. Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and manage projects with minimal supervision. Familiarity with research ethics, open science practices, and international collaboration is highly desirable.
