# Software Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Software Engineer role based in Garden City, NY, with flexibility for part-time work from home. The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain back-end and full-stack systems that address complex business and technical requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, participating in code reviews, debugging and optimizing existing applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and refine technical specifications. The role also involves contributing to architecture decisions, implementing best practices for security and performance, and documenting technical solutions to support long-term maintainability. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including algorithms, data structures, and system design. Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar). Experience with Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with team members both on-site in Garden City, NY and remotely. Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience working with clients or in consulting environments is a plus, as is exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
