# Senior Mechanical Engineer

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a member of our engineering team, supporting the design, build, test, and validation of our Subsurface Compressor Systems™ (SCS).&nbsp; This position will require leadership and support of a broad range of product development and validation activities at the component, subsystem, and system levels.&nbsp; This position requires a hands-on approach to problem solving as well as the use of closed form calculations for component design in high-speed rotating machinery applications.&nbsp; Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Generates 3D &amp; 2D design solutions for Subsurface Compressor System technology and related components, including new designs and modification of existing designs
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Design validation through bench-level testing and calculations
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be an integral part of the Change Review Board Process as an approver of changes, design details, and dispositioning of hardware.&nbsp;
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Evaluation and Dispositioning of supplier Non-Conformances
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Component and assembly troubleshooting by using production and test hardware.
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Assist with first article builds of new designs by being a part of the assembly and test process.
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Generates supporting documentation (e.g., drawings, engineering changes, layouts, engineering reports, test plans, specifications, P&amp;IDs etc.)
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Applies best manufacturing methods to the design including GD&amp;T
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Performing Peer drawing checks is a critical part of this position.
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Conceptualizes new designs based on existing proven designs and innovations
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Performs technical calculations in the areas of mechanical design and packaging of high-speed rotating machinery
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ensures timely and correct technical release of drawings to meet project schedules
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Assists other project team members in cross-functional activities when necessary
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Reviews drawings for completeness and accuracy
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Applies critical thinking to all steps
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Stack-Up analyses of assemblies
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Manages assembly Bill of Materials and ensures its accuracy in PDM and ERP systems. &nbsp; Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities:
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Minimum of 8 years of experience in an Engineering Role
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 3+ years of experience with Solidworks 3D modeling software
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing including GD&amp;T
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Experience with designing Turbomachinery components such as bearings and seals is desired.&nbsp;
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Understanding of Electro-Mechanical design and component packaging
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proven capability towards maintaining technical ownership of the design
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proficient using hand calculations and FEA to validate design decisions.
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proficient using and creating closed-form calculations for hardware design
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Experience in rotating machinery is desired
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Experience with high-speed turbo machinery and/or permanent magnet motors is desired
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Project management, coordination, and supervision skills is desired. Intangibles Sought:&nbsp;

• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Able to meet aggressive schedules
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Strong written and oral communication skills
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Demonstrates good interpersonal skills
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Work well with team members
• &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Enjoys hands-on work, taking units apart and rebuilding Physical Demands / Work Environment: This position will be mostly in an office atmosphere; however, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be expected to support the build and test of products in the production area. Personal protective equipment should be worn in designated shop floor areas. &nbsp;
