We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to help transition next-generation Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) production equipment from development into high-volume manufacturing.&nbsp; This role&nbsp;helps ensure&nbsp;our production equipment is stable, reliable, scalable, and capable of delivering world-class safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. As our manufacturing footprint expands across multiple factories, you will solve&nbsp;equipment&nbsp;problems&nbsp;at the machine level&nbsp;and&nbsp;help&nbsp;transform those solutions into engineering standards deployed across the entire fleet.&nbsp; Success in this role requires&nbsp;strong&nbsp;troubleshooting skills,&nbsp;independent technical&nbsp;judgment, and the&nbsp;drive&nbsp;to&nbsp;grow into broader fleet-level ownership. You will work alongside senior&nbsp;equipment&nbsp;engineers to stabilize new machines, improve reliability, and&nbsp;build&nbsp;the&nbsp;standards that carry the fleet as it scales.&nbsp; The Role As&nbsp;a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer (known internally as&nbsp;Additive Manufacturing Equipment Engineer II), you will&nbsp;take&nbsp;technical&nbsp;responsibility for assigned&nbsp;production equipment after engineering qualification. You will work at the intersection of equipment engineering, manufacturing, quality, reliability, and operations, applying independent judgment to solve complex problems and improving standard work with input from your manager and senior engineers.&nbsp; You will:&nbsp; Support&nbsp;the transition of newly developed production equipment from qualification into sustained manufacturing.&nbsp; Drive&nbsp;improvements in equipment reliability, throughput, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on assigned machines.&nbsp; Troubleshoot&nbsp;mechanical, electrical, controls, and process-related issues affecting production, adapting established methods to&nbsp;new problems.&nbsp; Apply and improve&nbsp;engineering standards that&nbsp;ensure&nbsp;consistency across&nbsp;production&nbsp;assets.&nbsp; Provide production feedback to&nbsp;design engineering&nbsp;on&nbsp;machine&nbsp;performance and reliability.&nbsp; Support&nbsp;technical investigations and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) for&nbsp;equipment failures.&nbsp; Contribute to&nbsp;cost reduction through equipment optimization&nbsp;and&nbsp;process improvements.&nbsp; Support capital equipment&nbsp;installation, commissioning, and production readiness&nbsp;activities.&nbsp; Act as a technical resource for operators, technicians, and peers.&nbsp; Equipment Performance &amp;&nbsp;Machine&nbsp;Ownership&nbsp; Take&nbsp;technical&nbsp;responsibility&nbsp;for&nbsp;assigned&nbsp;production L-PBF equipment following Operational Qualification (OQ).&nbsp; Track&nbsp;performance&nbsp;against established&nbsp;baselines and&nbsp;improve machine capability across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.&nbsp; Execute standardized&nbsp;equipment configurations&nbsp;and flag deviations&nbsp;between machines and factories.&nbsp; Contribute to&nbsp;engineering standards supporting future factory deployments.&nbsp; Troubleshooting &amp; Reliability Engineering&nbsp; Troubleshoot&nbsp;equipment issues involving mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and process interactions.&nbsp; Perform&nbsp;root cause investigations using structured engineering methodologies.&nbsp; Implement&nbsp;corrective actions that&nbsp;eliminate&nbsp;recurring failures.&nbsp; Improve&nbsp;preventative&nbsp;maintenance&nbsp;procedures&nbsp;based on equipment performance, with manager input.&nbsp; Process &amp; Manufacturing Optimization&nbsp; Improve L-PBF equipment capability to increase throughput, yield, dimensional accuracy, and repeatability.&nbsp; Implement&nbsp;engineering solutions that increase machine&nbsp;utilization&nbsp;and operational efficiency.&nbsp; Support&nbsp;qualification and validation activities for new equipment, process changes, and manufacturing improvements.&nbsp; Engineering Collaboration &amp; Equipment Development&nbsp; Provide structured production feedback&nbsp;to equipment design teams on&nbsp;machine&nbsp;performance, serviceability, and manufacturability.&nbsp; Collaborate with controls, software, mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to resolve technical challenges.&nbsp; Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) initiatives.&nbsp; Fleet Standards &amp; Technical Documentation&nbsp; Develop&nbsp;and improve standard work, maintenance&nbsp;procedures, and&nbsp;calibration&nbsp;documentation with manager input.&nbsp; Support&nbsp;configuration management and engineering change implementation across the production fleet.&nbsp; Document&nbsp;lessons learned&nbsp;so they can be&nbsp;institutionalized into future machine deployments.&nbsp; Quality &amp; Compliance&nbsp; Support qualification of additive manufacturing equipment and processes to aerospace and automotive quality requirements.&nbsp; Support&nbsp;Quality Engineering during audits, customer reviews, and process validation activities.&nbsp; Analyze manufacturing defects and equipment-related quality issues&nbsp;and&nbsp;implement&nbsp;engineering solutions.&nbsp; Follow&nbsp;AS9100, AMS, PPAP, and internal quality&nbsp;system requirements.&nbsp; Capital Equipment &amp; Factory Expansion&nbsp; Execute assigned scopes within&nbsp;capital equipment projects supporting factory growth.&nbsp; Support&nbsp;factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and production ramp&nbsp;activities.&nbsp; Contribute to&nbsp;technical readiness plans ensuring new equipment achieves production targets rapidly.&nbsp; Basic Qualifications Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.&nbsp; 4–6&nbsp;years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, reliability engineering, or advanced production environments.&nbsp; Experience supporting the launch or ramp of production&nbsp;equipment&nbsp;or processes.&nbsp; Strong troubleshooting&nbsp;skills&nbsp;across mechanical, electrical,&nbsp;and/or&nbsp;controls&nbsp;systems.&nbsp; Experience&nbsp;with&nbsp;structured&nbsp;root cause analysis&nbsp;methodologies&nbsp;(e.g., RCCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone).&nbsp; Ability&nbsp;to work&nbsp;cross-functionally with&nbsp;engineering, operations, quality, and maintenance&nbsp;teams.&nbsp; Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.&nbsp; Preferred Qualifications Experience with Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) or other metal additive manufacturing technologies.&nbsp; Experience in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or other high-volume precision manufacturing environments.&nbsp; Knowledge of AS9100, AMS, PPAP, APQP, or equivalent quality systems.&nbsp; Exposure to&nbsp;equipment reliability engineering, OEE improvement,&nbsp;or preventative&nbsp;maintenance&nbsp;programs.&nbsp; Experience working with machine sensor data or manufacturing analytics.&nbsp; Experience with controls systems, PLCs, industrial automation,&nbsp;or machine integration.&nbsp; Experience&nbsp;supporting&nbsp;capital equipment&nbsp;installation&nbsp;or&nbsp;commissioning.&nbsp; Compensation At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels E04
