Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Finance will take end-to-end ownership of the hotel’s financial operations, reporting, compliance and financial governance. This role goes beyond traditional financial management. The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee, translating financial data into practical recommendations that support profitability, operational efficiency and sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Business Partnership Lead the Finance Department and ensure efficient, accurate and compliant financial operations. Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee. Provide financial insight to support business planning, investment decisions and operational priorities. Analyse financial performance, identify trends and variances, and recommend actions to improve profitability. Contribute actively to the hotel’s strategic, financial and operational objectives as a member of the Executive Committee. Translate complex financial information into clear and actionable business recommendations. Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting Prepare and present monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts and annual business plans. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure timely reconciliations and accurate financial reporting. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts and identify areas requiring corrective action. Develop clear reporting structures that provide management with timely and relevant financial visibility. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all reporting processes. Financial Control & Compliance Ensure compliance with corporate policies, IFRS where applicable, Turkish tax legislation, statutory reporting requirements and internal control standards. Develop, implement and continuously improve financial control procedures. Maintain effective controls across purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, cash management and fixed assets. Ensure all tax declarations, statutory filings, licences, insurance requirements and regulatory obligations are completed accurately and on time. Review and approve financial transactions, journal entries, reconciliations, payroll submissions, purchase orders and cash transfers within delegated authority. Identify financial and operational risks and establish appropriate preventive controls. Treasury, Cash Flow & Credit Management Oversee cash flow, treasury activities, banking relationships, working capital and liquidity. Manage billing, invoicing, collections and credit-control processes. Ensure the effective administration of accounts receivable. Monitor cash requirements and support the organisation’s short- and long-term financial planning. Maintain productive relationships with banks and other financial stakeholders. Audit, Governance & External Relations Coordinate internal and external audit processes. Ensure that audit findings are addressed accurately and within agreed timelines. Maintain effective relationships with auditors, banks, government authorities and business partners. Support strong financial governance across the organisation. Drive process improvements, cost efficiencies and consistent financial discipline. Team Leadership & Development Recruit, coach, mentor and develop a high-performing Finance team. Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations and accountability standards. Build a collaborative working environment focused on accuracy and continuous improvement. Support the professional development and succession readiness of Finance team members. Ensure effective coordination between Finance and other hotel departments. What We Are Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline. Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including significant responsibility in finance leadership. Proven experience as a Director of Finance, Financial Controller or in a comparable senior finance position within an international hotel environment. Previous pre-opening experience is preferred. Multi-property experience will be considered an advantage. A recognised professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA or an equivalent qualification is advantageous. Comprehensive knowledge of Turkish financial regulations, taxation, statutory reporting, accounting standards and compliance requirements. Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, business analysis, internal controls and cash-flow management. A commercial mindset and the ability to connect financial performance with operational priorities. Strong leadership, coaching, communication and stakeholder-management skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with PeopleSoft is highly preferred. Experience with Opera PMS, SUN Systems, Hyperion, Delphi, Micros or other hospitality systems is advantageous. Excellent written and spoken English and Turkish. Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate results under pressure. This Role May Not Be Right for You If You Prefer a finance role focused solely on reporting without involvement in commercial or operational decisions. Are not comfortable acting as a strategic partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee. Prefer working independently from hotel operations and other departments. Are uncomfortable managing complex compliance, audit and internal-control responsibilities. Prefer a narrowly defined position without responsibility for team leadership and development.
