MECHANICAL SHOP SPEC (SUBSAFE)

You will serve as a MECHANICAL SHOP SPECIALIST (SUBSAFE) in the Production Resources Department (c900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. PAY SETTING GS-12: $93,445 - $121,482 GS-11: $77,964 - $101,359 You will advise and instruct mechanics and supervisors on proper methods and procedures to be used to accomplish the work in accordance with SUBSAFE/REC program. You will develop, analyze, evaluate, advise on, or improve the effectiveness of work methods and procedures, organizations, distribution of work assignments, management controls, information and documentation systems. You will conduct internal audits of significant scope and mission impact. You will perform periodic scheduled inspections, testing, and emergent deficiency inspections and tests of mechanical, hydraulic, structural, electronic, and electrical components and systems on nuclear and non-nuclear Sub Systems. You will provide training feedback and review of training material to ensure the Shipyard has ample personnel qualified and certified to perform duties of the Mechanical Shop. You will serve as a consultant and authority to higher level management on SUBSAFE policy and procedures for the Mechanical Shop. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting studies, reviews, evaluations, or preparation of service requirements to provide recommendations on work practices to maintain water-tight integrity of sub systems and equipment. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing or evaluating inspection results to provide recommendations and subsequent training to increase overall program effectiveness of sub systems and equipment.
