# Security Specialist (Industrial)

U.S. Special Operations Command (Army)

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Special Operations Command (Army), Special Operations Task Force (SOTF), Intelligence Section, located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Serves as principal action officer for administration of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
Determines eligibility to work with and store classified and sensitive information.
Conducts analysis of contract performance requirements and prepares DoD Contract Security Classification Specifications (DD Form 254).
Verifies contractor eligibility to perform on such contracts, and provides advice and guidance to contracting officers/administrators, contract officer representatives (CORs), and project officers to ensure conformity with NISP requirements.
Coordinates, provides guidance, and proposes new policy with DA, SOCOM, SPAWAR, Contracting Support Element and INSCOM concerning secure environment contracting.
Provides Industrial Security education for all directorates of the command as well as collocated tenant organizations.
Maintains a basic knowledge of Personnel Security requirements and processes and knows how to use DoD/DA systems of records for clearances and contract management.
Manages the Geographic Combatant Command and Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) ACCM Programs IAW agency requirements.
Providing procedural and administrative guidance to unit ACCM Program Control Officers.
Conducts quarterly and spot checks for compliance of segregation rules for the network as well as hard-copy storage.
Coordinates with Command staff elements and other organizations/commands concerning interdisciplinary security policy requirements and implementation and provides advice and assistance on security procedures and requirements.
Represents the Security Manager and the command in conferences, meetings, and working groups involving HQ USSOCOM, military departments, and the Joint Staff.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: One year specialized experience at the GG-11 grade level (or equivalent) is defined as: Verifying, managing, and/or maintains records on security clearance status of industrial facilities; assisting in the formulation of policy guidance and implementation procedures for multiple specialized security programs designed to safeguard sensitive intelligence, operations, and/or support information; and providing technical advice and assistance to activity staff regarding implementation of security procedures and requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GG/GS-11 grade level or or equivalent in the Federal service.
