Human Resources Manager-Direct Hire Department: Human Resources Reports To: President FLSA Status: Exempt Direct Hire Position The Human Resources Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of human resources activities for local company in the Washington County area. This position serves as a key resource to employees, supervisors, and managers while ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, safety requirements, and food industry regulations. The Human Resources Manager oversees payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, leaves of absence, compliance, and employee records. This position works closely with company leadership and department managers to promote a positive, productive, and compliant workplace. Essential Job Functions Payroll & HRIS Administration Create and maintain accurate employee profiles and records in ADP Workforce . Create, process, and maintain employee payroll deductions. Prepare and process multi-state payroll accurately and timely. Oversee employee enrollment and administration of the company 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan . Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. Employee Relations & Management Support Provide HR guidance and consultation to management regarding employment practices, compliance, and HR best practices. Advise managers and supervisors on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace concerns. Ensure disciplinary processes are administered consistently and appropriately. Coach managers on training, employee discipline, performance reviews, and effective employee management. Support a positive and professional workplace culture. Recruiting, Hiring & Onboarding Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, pre-employment screening, hiring, onboarding, and termination. Coordinate new-hire documentation and onboarding processes. Ensure employee files and required documentation are complete and maintained accurately. Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and support effective recruitment efforts. Compliance, Training & Audits Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations. Oversee employee leaves of absence and accommodations, including FMLA, Oregon Paid Leave, and workers' compensation matters. Coordinate and maintain compliance with OSHA, I-9, safety, and SQF audit requirements . Provide guidance regarding HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Monitor department training requirements and ensure training records and dashboards remain current. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and properly documented. Benefits Administration Administer employee benefit programs and serve as the primary HR contact for benefit-related matters. Manage relationships and communications with third-party benefit vendors. Coordinate employee enrollment, changes, and ongoing benefit administration. Safety & Food Industry Compliance Coordinate the Safety Committee across production departments. Support company safety initiatives and ensure required safety documentation is maintained. Support HACCP, Food Safety, Food Fraud, and Food Defense programs and regulatory requirements. Ensure required lot tracking, Critical Control Point, and sanitation documentation and procedures are maintained. Qualifications & Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Up to three years of related Human Resources experience and/or training; additional experience may be considered in lieu of education. Previous ADP payroll and HRIS experience required . Experience with multi-state payroll preferred. Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements. Understanding of quality standards, food safety, and health and safety regulations within a food manufacturing environment preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ADP or similar HRIS/payroll systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with employees, supervisors, managers, and senior leadership. Strong coaching, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, company policies, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and other business communications. Beaverton Foods' documents, policies, and procedures are written in English.
