# Supervisory Police Officer (Traffic)

United States Army Installation Management Command

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent will serve as Chief of the Traffic Investigation Section, Operations Branch, Police Division, responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of a 24 hours, rotating shifts, seven days a week traffic branch.
Serve as Chief of the Traffic Investigation Section, Operations Branch, Police Division, responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of a 24 hours, rotating shifts, seven days a week traffic branch.
Direct and supervise all aspects of traffic control, enforcement and analyses.
Plan, manage and direct all aspects of motor vehicle traffic investigation for the installation.
Conduct long-range and day-to-day planning of traffic missions and investigations, and subordinate activities ensuring consideration of all assigned areas of responsibility.
Plan, schedule, and distribute work to subordinates as necessary to achieve effective and expeditious accomplishment of organizational goals and missions.
Perform uniformed police officer duties when needed to assist in police operations and assure compliance with Federal, State, County and municipal laws and ordinances, and agency rules and regulations.
Conduct liaison visits to local and state law enforcement agencies to discuss areas of mutual concern, level of service, and future plans
Perform duties as Military Police Duty Officer (MPDO) on a rotating basis on assigned weekends, supervising a shift of law enforcement personnel.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-08 grade level which includes: managing all aspects of motor vehicle traffic investigations; planning traffic missions and investigations; planning, scheduling, and/or distributing work to subordinates; performs traffic engineering functions by conducting traffic control studies.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08)
