About the Position: Position is located at Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Advanced In-Hire MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Transport patients to and from offsite activities such as AA meetings, church, recreational sites andother places as approved by SARP management. Operate the van carefully and in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Maintain clear and thorough communication with Department Duty Officer should there be any discrepancies related to patient behaviors, unauthorized absences, and/or vehicle problems. Responsible for assuring that safety and housekeeping rules are followed by all passengers. Maintain accountability of all patients, reporting immediately any patient passenger absences and/or patient violations of rules and standards of conduct. Accomplish assignments with considerable independence and is responsible for the safe operation of vehicles and equipment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic requirements for Motor Vehicle Operation (WG-5703-06): There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Motor Vehicle Operator ~ without more than normal supervision. Driver's maintenance in accordance with established regulations; loading and unloading of passengers and cargo; complete vehicle utilization records and driver's accident report when necessary. • Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical effort: Moderate physical effort is required in lifting, loading and unloading cargo. Receives assistance from other warehouseman, laborers, and equipment operators when moving items over 25 pounds. Working Conditions: May be exposed to cold, drafty, damp or hot weather while loading and unloading vehicle. Subject to possible injury from falling stock. Subject to bruises and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving vehicles.
