Head of Software

We’re partnering with a fast-scaling, technology-driven media financing platform that empowers content creators through tailored capital and global distribution solutions. Headquartered in Europe with a growing international presence, the company is on a mission to become a leading global media rights owner in the creator economy. As the organization continues to scale, we are seeking a Head of Software to lead its technology function in Turkey. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with close collaboration with the Head of Product and key business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong startup / scale-up experience, proven engineering leadership capability, and the ability to combine strategic technology ownership with hands-on execution. Responsibilities: Report directly to the CEO and act as the key technology leader within leadership team Work closely with the Head of Product to translate product and business strategy into scalable technology roadmaps Own software architecture, engineering processes, technical strategy, and execution quality end-to-end Lead and scale the software development function, managing a team of approximately 4–5 people Lead backend, frontend, mobile, and DevOps delivery processes across the company Mentor and support engineers, team leads, and cross-functional contributors Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software roadmaps in line with business priorities Design scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performing systems aligned with company growth Drive best practices around SDLC, code quality, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and operational excellence Take ownership of complex technical challenges and critical production systems Support the company-wide AI transformation across different business units, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and decision-making through AI-enabled solutions Maintain a hands-on approach when needed, including code review, technical problem-solving, and architecture guidance Background: 15+ years of experience in software engineering, including senior technical leadership roles Proven track record of leading engineering teams in production environments, ideally within startups or fast-scaling technology companies Experience managing small to mid-sized engineering teams and building high-performance engineering cultures Strong hands-on technical capability, with the ability to code, review, challenge, and mentor senior engineers Experience owning backend, frontend, mobile, and DevOps backlogs Solid understanding of modern cloud systems and AWS serverless architectures, (Lambda and API Gateway) Working knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript, Python, and modern frameworks such as Vue.js and React Native Strong understanding of scalable system design, software architecture, performance, reliability, and security Experience driving engineering best practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, incident management, and technical documentation Strong interest in AI-driven transformation and the ability to support business units in adopting AI tools and workflows Entrepreneurial, resilient, ownership-driven, and delivery-focused mindset Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-ownership environments Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams Fluency in English is required Why Join?
