Director Center Operations Directorate

The incumbent serves as the Director, Center Operations Directorate at NASA's Langley Research Center with responsibility to provide crucial operations, engineering, maintenance, logistics, and environmental services. The incumbent is responsible for providing an integrated institutional assets management function for the Center while revitalizing the Center's infrastructure to meet the needs of future NASA missions. The Director Center Operations Directorate: Serves as a member of the Center Leadership team, providing executive leadership, counsel, and accountability. Works closely with other organizations to ensure that all plans and work are consistent and well-integrated within the overall Center strategy and operating plan. Implements the Langley Center Strategy and governance to drive delivery of technically excellent and robust solutions, create opportunities for advanced collaborations, and continually improve business and product delivery for efficiency and effectiveness. Align Center Operations Directorate (COD) goals and objectives to Langley Center Strategy accordingly. Manages the Center's Construction of Facilities program and is responsible for the maintenance and operations of Center facilities. Provides leadership and guidance to develop, implement, and sustain the Center's infrastructure while reducing cost and maintaining safety, security, and quality of life. Provides export control, facility engineering and maintenance, logistics, real property and space utilization, master planning, Geographic Information System, environmental, and utility and energy management for the Center. Defines long range goals and measures for the directorate and ensures development of strategic capabilities (people and facilities) needed to support programs and build future capabilities, programs, and elements that are aligned with NASA mission needs. Executes funded program/project elements; strengthens existing partnerships and establishes new partnerships critical for success. Monitors and evaluates market intelligence, technical intelligence, and competitive intelligence to ensure center capabilities are exceeding state of the art and maintain a leadership role in recognized areas of expertise.
