SHIP HUSBANDING SPECIALIST

You will serve as a SHIP HUSBANDRY SPECIALIST in the 3rd Fleet Command of COMMANDER THIRD FLEET. You will initiates ongoing actions intended to ensure that husbanding contracts are adequate to meet the Logistics Requirements (LOGREQ) of afloat THIRD FLEET units. You will support ship port visits, particularly during Fleet Weeks, and you will be required to plan early and coordination. You will work with a mix of civilian and military cross functional teams and members to form a working group that develops and executes a multi-ship event in support of a large scale exercise or Fleet Week. You will scrutinize requirements and develops recommendations that can have a substantial cost/cost savings, or profound effect on the port visit. You will coordinate and deconflict US Navy port visits with Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) officers and foreign military officers assigned in Third Fleet when visiting Canada and Mexico. You will be 'on call' 24/7 during port visits. You will the 1st point of contact for the port visit contracts, the incumbent must be prepared for extensive, last minute, and abrupt changes in plans, procedures and requirements and must be available and responsive to these changes. You will ensure the contract task order supports port visits during large scale exercises, major Fleet Week events and single port visits within CONUS and OCONUS ports (Canada, Alaska, Mexico, and Hawaii). Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, executing and coordinating assigned programs, projects or contracts for large scale exercises and or ship port visits to support the commands overall mission for fleet wide implementation.
