As an intern, you are paired with full-time employees who act as mentors, collaborating with you on real-world projects we actually need done.  As a procurement intern, you’ll work side-by-side with full-timers to learn how we procure goods and services for the firm on a global basis. You will see how we develop and execute requests for proposal (RFPs), negotiate with vendors, level disparate quotes, manage inventory, raise purchase orders, handle global logistics, and analyze spend data. Your internship project might focus on finding and implementing ways to improve efficiency in our internal processes, or helping us to plan and research our sourcing efforts. Your mentors will come from different areas of the team, so you’ll gain a better understanding of the planning, execution, and problem solving required pre-purchase and post-purchase. Your daily project work will be complemented by lunch seminars, real-time discussion on the desk, and classes that give you a sense of the broader fundamentals of Jane Street’s business and how your daily work fits into the big picture of our firm. If you have a curious mind, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for solving interesting problems, we have a feeling you’ll fit right in. We're more interested in how you think and learn than what you currently know.
