# PLASTIC FABRICATOR

U.S. Pacific Fleet

You will serve as a PLASTIC FABRICATOR in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES AUSTRALIA MAINTENANCE SUPPORT
• 900AU Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. The location for this position is Garden Island, Australia. See Additional Information section below for details
You will review drawings and job instructions to plan the best way to complete each repair or fabrication task.
You will measure, cut, shape, and install deck, wall, and sound-reducing materials to very close tolerances.
You will choose the right materials and mixes to meet product needs and required dimensions.
You will inspect completed work to make sure it is free of defects and meets quality standards.
You will provide hands-on guidance to helpers or trainees when needed during daily work.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONT'D: Upon relocation to Australia, employee pay will be based upon the final post of duty to which the employee is assigned in Australia. Employees directed to a foreign post of duty in Australia may be authorized overseas allowances in accordance with the Department of State Standardized Regulation to include foreign transfer allowance, temporary quarters allowance, living quarters allowance and other allowances to which they are eligible. Employees (and their family members) who require medical care in Australia may experience limitations accessing medical care both on the military installation and the local economy and could incur costly medical expenses. Please consult Overseas Living and Working Conditions published here for Rockingham and Garden Island Western Australia: https://www.secnav.navy.mil/donhr/Overseas/Pages/default.asp Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily. Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date. However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location. Additional documentation may be required prior to granting preference. Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
