Role Overview A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) (Or Staff Integration Engineer) embeds directly with clients to deploy, customize, and troubleshoot our platform in their environment — the engineer who shows up when a bank is going live on our platform and things need to actually work, live, in front of that client. You'll spend approximately 15–25% of your time client-facing on average across a year, with bursts to 20-30% during high-stakes windows like cutover (when a client's systems go live on our platform) or bank-audit windows (when a banking client is under regulatory examination and needs hands-on engineering support). What You’ll Do • Build Scalable Integrations: Design and ship integrations with major custodians, CRMs, and financial platforms, ensuring architectures scale cleanly across our multi-tenant ecosystem. • Embed at Key Technical Junctions: Partner directly with enterprise clients, enterprise IT, and security teams—averaging 15–25% client-facing time over the year, bursting up to 20-30 during critical cutover windows, migrations, or technical audits. • Codify Customer-Facing Solutions: Turn bespoke enterprise requirements into reusable tooling, shared services, and core product capabilities to expand the wealth.com http://wealth.com platform. • Maintain High-Stakes Technical Rigor: Reason through complex security models, compliance boundaries, data encryption, and identity federation in heavily regulated environments. • Drive Operational Excellence: Maintain calm precision under pressure, managing deployment, key rotations, and incident response paths during live customer integrations. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with core Engineering, Product, and Solutions leadership to ensure field insights directly inform the broader product roadmap. What We’re Looking For • Engineering Excellence: 5+ years (IC5) or 8+ years (IC6) of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer shipping production systems. You meet the same high bar as our core IC engineering team. • System & Integration Architecture: Proven track record building robust REST/GraphQL APIs, ETL pipelines, event-driven architectures, and integrations with enterprise legacy platforms. • Security & Regulatory Acumen: Deep understanding of enterprise security protocols (OAuth, SAML, mTLS), data encryption standards, and operating within regulated compliance frameworks (SOC2, financial audit paths). • High Technical Presence: Exceptional written and verbal communication. Ability to anchor high-stakes technical discussions, lead architecture reviews, and build trust with client engineering leaders. • 0-to-1 Problem Solving: Comfort with ambiguity. Ability to ingest messy, unstructured financial/estate data and rapidly build pragmatic, well-tested solutions. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience in WealthTech, FinTech, SaaS integrations, or custodian platform ecosystems (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, Salesforce Financial Services Cloud). • Background in forward-deployed, solutions, or customer-adjacent engineering within high-growth B2B SaaS environments. Benefits & Perks • Hybrid work arrangement in New York City (3x a week) • Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance options, with low-cost premium structures that demonstrate our commitment to offering great value to our employees. • 100% company-paid basic life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance. • 100% paid parental leave upon eligibility. • Company equity managed through Carta. • 401k with match and 100% vesting upon hire. • Flexible PTO in an environment where taking time off to relax or recharge is supported and encouraged. • Take time off for holidays—and yes, your birthday counts too. Celebrate, relax, and recharge without thinking twice. • Free estate planning for life! Wealth is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people from all backgrounds to apply. Should you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please let us know.
