Country Finance Director – Tanzania

As we continue to expand our international operations through engineering excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth, we are seeking an experienced, results-driven Country Finance Director to act as the country finance leader for our railway project in Tanzania — one of our strategic international projects. Key Responsibilities Own the consolidated country cash position and lead the 13-week rolling liquidity forecast. Deliver technical finance and controls excellence across IFRS reporting, consolidation, and management reporting, while strengthening the financial control framework. Lead Tanzania statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance, including engagement with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA). Manage treasury, banking relationships, FX exposure, and the guarantee / letter-of-credit (LC) portfolio. Provide project-level financial visibility — cash flow forecasting, profitability analysis, and estimate-at-completion (EAC) reporting. Support business transformation, including financial restructuring, controls enhancement, and turnaround programs. Build, develop, and lead a process-driven country finance team with strong governance and accountability. Partner with lenders, auditors, board representatives, and senior management. Candidate Profile Required Qualified accountant (ACCA / CPA / CA or equivalent) with 12–15+ years of finance experience, including senior leadership roles. Proven track record as a Country CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent in Tanzania or East Africa, with deep knowledge of the local tax and statutory environment (incl. TRA). Strong technical command of IFRS, consolidation, financial reporting, and internal controls. Hands-on treasury, cash management, and guarantee / LC experience. Background in construction, infrastructure, EPC, or other project-based industries, with exposure to project finance and contract-based environments. Experience in financial restructuring, business transformation, or controls-turnaround situations. Able to operate within a multinational, matrixed organization, balancing local requirements with Group governance standards. High integrity, ownership, and professional judgment, and fluent English. Preferred Previous experience in international contractor environments or Turkish / global engineering and construction groups. Experience managing complex stakeholder environments involving lenders, auditors, shareholders, and project partners.
