Quality Assurance Specialist

Perform a variety of pre-award and post-award contract functions such as participating in pre-solicitation committees and contract award boards and review technical data packages. Performs audit or analysis functions and provide support regarding audits and analysis. Provide input and support maintenance of contractor reporting systems. Performs quality assurance functions in support of material findings. Initiates or recommends corrective actions for quality issues. Evaluate contractor Quality Assurance/statistical process control plans and reports. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience at this level may include: Conducting quality assurance visits to contractors, and/or production facilities to assure mission material meets established requirements; Developing, modifying, and standardizing simple contract clauses for quality assurance requirements; Recommending solutions to quality assurance problems; Developing quality assurance plans to monitor commodities or programs during product/system life cycle.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09) OR Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, and other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Experience and Education and Experience: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 36 hours (total semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.
