Information Technology Specialist (System Administrator)

If selected, you'll serve as a Systems Administrator Level I within the Office of Information Resources Management (IRM), performing a variety of duties involving the support and administration of the agency's Microsoft cloud and enterprise computing environment. This work involves configuration and maintenance of Microsoft O365 services, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Azure cloud services, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Defender under the guidance of senior engineer and cloud administrators The duties may include, but are not limited to: Serves as System Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of MSPB’s IT systems and peripherals. Assist with user provisioning, licensing, and service configuration. Troubleshoot user access, authentication, mailbox, and collaboration platform issues. Monitor service health and assist in implementing recommended improvements. Coordinate helpdesk operations including the remediation of system-identified cyber security alerts and known vulnerabilities. Assists in implementing network, administration, and software system configuration changes or new equipment installation as necessary. Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. FOR THE GS-11 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-9 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Applying administrative knowledge of Windows desktop operating system, Microsoft O365, and Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure to support day-to-day IT operations. Coordinating disparate IT resources to troubleshoot and resolve user and administrative IT problems. Utilizing IT Service Management, Cloud and endpoint security, Cloud backup, Cloud VPN, Teams telephony, and SDWAN products. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
