KUZNETSOV is building a free cybersecurity education and certification program for beginner, intermediate, and professional-level learners. The program will provide structured learning paths, practical exercises, hands-on laboratories, assessments, and accessible certifications that allow participants to demonstrate their knowledge without facing significant financial barriers. Our objective is not simply to provide another piece of paper. We want to create a credible, practical, and technically challenging program that measures real cybersecurity knowledge and helps learners build skills they can apply in professional environments. Role Description The Cybersecurity Curriculum & Certification Program Developer will contribute to the research, design, and development of KUZNETSOV’s free cybersecurity training and certification initiative. This role involves creating structured learning paths for different experience levels, developing technically accurate course material, designing hands-on laboratories, and preparing fair and reliable certification assessments. Contributors will work alongside cybersecurity professionals, researchers, educators, and technical content developers to ensure the program remains practical, accessible, and aligned with current industry requirements. Course subjects may include cybersecurity fundamentals, networking, Linux, ethical hacking, penetration testing, application security, vulnerability assessment, OSINT, threat intelligence, incident response, defensive security, security operations, risk management, and professional reporting. The ideal candidate understands both the technical and educational sides of cybersecurity. They should be capable of translating complex concepts into clear lessons while ensuring that assessments measure practical ability rather than memorization alone. Key Responsibilities Design structured cybersecurity learning paths for beginner, intermediate, and professional levels. Develop clear and technically accurate lessons, study materials, demonstrations, and practical exercises. Create hands-on laboratories and realistic security scenarios using controlled and authorized environments. Design quizzes, practical assessments, examination questions, and certification requirements. Define measurable learning objectives and expected competencies for each course level. Review course content for technical accuracy, clarity, accessibility, and relevance. Help establish fair examination, grading, identity-verification, and certification processes. Ensure that educational content follows responsible disclosure principles, ethical security practices, and applicable laws. Collaborate with security researchers, penetration testers, educators, and technical writers. Research established cybersecurity frameworks, certification structures, and industry requirements. Regularly update course material to reflect emerging threats, technologies, vulnerabilities, and defensive practices. Help develop a certification program that employers and cybersecurity professionals can recognize as credible and skills-focused. Support learners from different technical backgrounds by making difficult concepts understandable without reducing technical depth. Qualifications Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, information security, or a specialized security domain. Practical experience in one or more areas such as penetration testing, application security, network security, vulnerability research, OSINT, threat intelligence, incident response, digital forensics, or security operations. Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to learners with different levels of experience. Understanding of practical training methods, laboratory design, assessment development, or technical curriculum creation. Familiarity with Linux, networking, web technologies, security tools, and common cybersecurity methodologies. Knowledge of industry frameworks and standards such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks is beneficial. Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, CISSP, Security+, eJPT, PNPT, or equivalent qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory. A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Education, or a related field is beneficial; equivalent practical experience is equally valued. Strong written communication, research, documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate effectively, receive technical feedback, and contribute to long-term program development.
