Chemistry Teacher - Temporary

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and inspiring temporary Chemistry Teacher (maternity cover • February to June 2027). Responsibilities: • Establish strategic goals and objectives in collaboration with department members. • Monitor curriculum quality and content, ensuring faculty compliance with approved curriculum. • Ensure grading consistency across all levels or courses. • Collaborate with department members to develop electives considering school needs. • Participate in selecting textbooks, teaching aids, and equipment. • Support new teachers in understanding school policies and procedures. • Work with department members to enhance instructional quality. • Develop and oversee department budget and supplies. • Fulfill additional duties assigned by principals. Qualifications: • A bachelor’s degree in Math, an applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university is required. • A Master's degree or a Ph.D. may be preferred. • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in academics, in an International Baccalaureate-designated school. • Candidates with a good level of English • Proven experience in developing and maintaining meaningful extra/co-curricular activities, • Demonstrated ability to integrate technology, ESL teaching strategies, and research-based, formative/summative assessment into the learning environment/experience, • Collaborative personality and the ability to model learning for colleagues and students, • Decision-making skills to enact new policies or changes to better the educational environment for students and teachers. • Have competency in effective communication and interpersonal skills, time management, problem-solving, organization & planning; strong in teamwork and have distinguishing leadership skills. “Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, Tarsus American College holds itself to the highest standards of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection.
