WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Data Ingestion and Pipeline Operations Design, scale and operate Kafka → BigQuery ingestion pipelines Monitor existing pipelines and step in when failures occur Add and develop new data sources and connectors Build and improve SQL pipelines Data Modeling and Transformation Take an active role in data modeling and transformation across the raw → staging → mart layers, in both stage and prod environments Data Quality and Observability Develop data quality tests and set up monitoring and alerting systems Cost Management Monitor and optimize GCP and other costs Infrastructure Take an active role in infrastructure setup and decisions, and build improvements as needs arise Self-Service BI and Metric Standards Provide standards, documentation and training so product teams can do self-service BI Work with analysts and data scientists to standardize metric definitions Prepare documentation and training for product teams WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 4+ years of data engineering experience Production experience with GCP/BigQuery Hands-on experience with Kafka and streaming architectures Advanced SQL, SQLX and Python skills Experience with Airflow/Composer and/or dbt Experience with dimensional modeling and event data modeling Hands-on with data quality and observability practices WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE Grow fast Build products that reach millions.
