Field Application Engineer
Milvus Robotics
About the Role Milvus Robotics builds autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) along with the software, fleet, and infrastructure that run them. As our deployments grow across warehouses, manufacturing plants, and logistics facilities, we’re looking for a Field Application Engineer to make sure our robotic systems are set up, running, and performing reliably at customer sites. You’ll be the person who takes our robots from crate to live deployment — commissioning them, tuning performance, and being the technical face our customers trust when things get real. It’s hands-on, high-variety work where you see the direct impact of what you do, and where field learnings feed straight back into how we build and ship. Your primary focus is on-site work: deploying, commissioning, and supporting robots at customer sites. When you’re not assigned to a deployment, you’ll support customer operations from the office — troubleshooting active issues, working open cases, reviewing alerts, coordinating responses, and creating documentation that improves future support and deployments. This is mostly business-hours work, stepping in as extra support for the team when needed. What You’l l Do Deploy & commission — Set up, configure, test, and commission robots and software at customer sites, and support go-live Support customers — Respond to inquiries by email, chat, and phone clearly and promptly, and provide training and practical guidance to customers, partners, and internal teams Troubleshoot end to end — Diagnose and resolve issues across robot hardware, software, connectivity, applications, and integrations Handle cases — Investigate active customer cases, follow up on open items, coordinate next steps, and keep records up to date Document — Record issues, root-cause findings, and resolutions in the support system, and feed recurring problems back to product and engineering Prep for demos & events — Configure and test robots for demonstrations, pilots, trade shows, and industry events Support hardware in the field — Perform basic hardware checks, support fault analysis, and replace selected components when appropriate Collaborate & escalate — Work with software, hardware, IT, maintenance, and support teams to investigate complex cases and improve product performance What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field 2+ years in field engineering, technical support, robotics, automation, or a similar customer-facing technical role Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, sensors, industrial equipment, or mobile robots Networking fundamentals (IP configuration, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, VPN, remote access) and comfort with Linux Structured troubleshooting across hardware, software, connectivity, and application layers Clear communication — able to explain technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences alike, with professional working proficiency in English Willingness and ability to travel, both domestically and internationally without restrictions — to customer sites, partner locations, and events, and to work in warehouses, plants, and logistics facilities Willingness to support customer operations from the office — troubleshooting, case follow-up, and documentation — when not assigned to on-site work Bonus Points Experience with AMRs, AGVs, forklifts, or warehouse automation Familiarity with industrial protocols (Modbus TCP, OPC UA, MQTT, PLCs) Robot deployment, commissioning, or site acceptance testing experience Comfort with ticketing systems, dashboards, logs, and incident-management processes Basic understanding of APIs, web applications, or databases Experience with component replacement, fault analysis, or preventive inspection Experience supporting mission-critical customer environments
