Group Head of Controlling

Role Purpose The Group Head of Controlling leads the group’s financial controlling, reporting, and accounting function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting under IFRS. The role provides oversight of group accounting, consolidation, cash flow management, internal controls, and financial governance across the manufacturing locations in Türkiye, Bulgaria, Serbia, China, Mexico, the sales offices, and the Global HQ in Geneva, Switzerland. Acting as a key business partner to the CFO and a member of the global finance leadership team, the role drives financial transparency, reporting excellence, process standardization, and continuous improvement across the group finance function. Key Responsibilities Own the group's financial reporting and accounting processes, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies. Own and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting process, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across all entities. Ensure robust internal controls over financial reporting and coordinate and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and relevant regulatory authorities. Provide accounting guidance across the group and review, develop, and maintain group reporting procedures and accounting policies. Coordinate and oversee balance sheet reconciliations across the group, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of outstanding items. Oversee group cash flow management and payment governance processes, ensuring adequate liquidity, effective cash control, and compliance with internal policies. Monitor and interpret changes in IFRS standards, assessing and implementing their impact on group accounting policies and reporting. Continuously improve financial processes, systems, and controls, including SAP and reporting tool optimization. Support the integration of new acquisitions into the group reporting, accounting, and control environment. Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and management information systems to support data-driven decision-making. Act as a trusted finance business partner to the CFO and senior leadership team, providing insights and recommendations on financial performance, reporting, and governance matters. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification preferred (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent). 10+ years of progressive experience in controlling, consolidation, financial accounting, or FP&A, including a minimum of 2–3 years in a leadership role. Experience in an audit firm and/or a multinational or group reporting environment is a strong advantage. Strong, demonstrable knowledge of IFRS, with hands-on experience applying IFRS standards in financial statement preparation and consolidation. Knowledge of Turkish GAAP is an asset. Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, with experience using ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA) and BI/reporting tools. Experience managing external audits and coordinating with auditors and regulators. Dual citizenship will be considered an advantage due to the international scope of the role and the Group's global operations. Key Skills & competencies Deep technical command of IFRS and its practical application to complex or evolving business situations. Excellent leadership and people-management skills, with experience building and developing high-performing teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into business insight. Strong communication skills, able to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership. High attention to detail balanced with the ability to see the bigger strategic picture. Resilience and sound judgment under tight reporting deadlines and shifting priorities. A proactive, process-improvement mindset and comfort with change in a growing or evolving organization. Willingness to travel to the production sites across group.
