At Aras Digital, we are looking for a Senior AI Platform Engineer who is highly effective in LLM-powered services, backend architecture, and real-time streaming systems. Own the architecture behind our LLM-powered services and our backend platform more broadly, and bring the engineering discipline • testing, standards, real-time architecture – that lets the rest of the team move faster. Responsibilities: Our LLM-powered chat and retrieval-augmented generation services, including vector search design and semantic caching. Architectural consistency across our backend service fleet • many services share common origins and patterns that have started to drift; you decide what "standard" means and bring services back to it. Automated testing and code quality standards within the services themselves • partnering with DevOps (who own and run our CI/CD pipelines) so those pipelines gate on real test suites and quality checks, not just build and deploy. Application-layer use of our cloud provider's identity, secrets, and storage services • integration, cost and latency tradeoffs at the service level, in coordination with DevOps on the underlying provisioning. Technical mentorship for mid-level engineers moving toward backend and platform work, and close pairing with our senior developer to split ownership sensibly. Moving one of our internal-facing operational tools from a read-only, polling-based design to a real-time, event-driven one • streaming live operational events to the UI the same way our chat services already stream responses. Qualifications Must have: 5+ years building production backend systems in Python (FastAPI or comparable). Hands-on experience shipping LLM/RAG systems – an orchestration framework, vector search, embeddings, prompt and context design. Comfortable working with cloud and storage services at the application layer, and coordinating with a DevOps team on the underlying infrastructure. MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL; Redis for caching or queues. Comfortable designing event-driven services with Kafka (producers/consumers, topic/schema design) • one of our next real projects moves a batch/polling-based tool to a live one. A track record of introducing automated testing and code quality standards to a codebase that didn't have them, and of working with a DevOps team so existing CI/CD pipelines actually gate on that. Enjoys mentoring • you'll be a technical reference point for several mid-level engineers. Good to have: Workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow) or task queues. Geospatial/routing optimization experience. Enough frontend experience (React/TypeScript) to review architecture, not necessarily to build UI daily. Experience in logistics, supply chain, or another operationally real-time domain. The Stack You'd Step Into: AI / LLM: LLM orchestration (e.g. LangChain-style frameworks), cloud LLM APIs, vector search, semantic caching, streaming responses Backend: Python / FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy + Alembic, MongoDB, PostgreSQL Real-time / streaming: Kafka, async Kafka consumers, WebSocket streaming, Redis Cloud & infra: Major cloud provider's identity, secrets, and blob storage services, Docker Data (adjacent teams): Workflow orchestration (Airflow-style), task queues Good to know: Geospatial/routing optimization concepts (routing engines, clustering, route-optimization heuristics) What Awaits You at Aras?
