Senior R&D Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior R&D Enginee r to lead mechanical design activities while supporting new product development, engineering innovation, prototype validation and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization General Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, R&D, or engineering functions Strong experience in the design and development of mechanical systems, sub-systems, mechanisms and components Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, heat treatment and surface treatment applications Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks Strong knowledge of technical drawings, GD&T, tolerancing, material selection and engineering calculations Experience in prototype development, testing, validation and design verification activities Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and technical reporting skills Advanced English proficiency Experience in the defense, aerospace, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries is preferred Job Description Lead mechanical design activities throughout the product development lifecycle Design and develop new products, systems, sub-systems, mechanisms and components in accordance with customer and project requirements Create innovative, manufacturable, cost-effective and reliable mechanical designs that meet quality and performance expectations Prepare and review technical drawings, engineering documentation, material specifications and design outputs Perform engineering calculations, design verification activities and technical evaluations for critical mechanical systems Support concept development, feasibility studies and technical decision-making processes Participate actively in prototype manufacturing, testing, validation and product qualification activities Analyze test results and implement design improvements based on findings Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to design, production, assembly and field issues Conduct technical research on new technologies, materials, manufacturing methods and engineering approaches Contribute to R&D projects through technical investigations, analysis, testing and reporting activities Collaborate closely with Project Management, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering teams Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, quality management systems and company procedures Maintain accurate engineering documentation, revision records, product structures and technical data Mentor junior engineers, technicians, interns and design personnel by providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing engineering capabilities, product performance and operational efficiency
